These terms are between you and Miranda Network SL, Tenerife, Spain. Installing or using Lucid means you accept them.
They are written to be read. Where something matters — and one thing here matters more than the rest — it is said plainly rather than buried.
What Lucid does
Lucid is a tracker with a plan. You tell it how much you drink in a normal week; it sets an allowance that descends over twelve weeks, and you log against it. It counts the days you kept to the plan, shows you what the reduction has given back, and offers a breathing exercise for the minutes when a craving is at its worst.
It is a record and a structure. It is not a treatment, a therapist or a clinician, and the next section is the one to read.
Lucid is not medical treatment — and alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous
This is the most important paragraph in this document. If you drink heavily every day, stopping suddenly can be physically dangerous. Alcohol withdrawal in a dependent drinker can cause seizures and delirium tremens, and it can be fatal. It is one of the few withdrawals where the safe course is medical supervision rather than willpower.
Lucid reduces an allowance gradually rather than taking you to zero overnight, and that is deliberate. But the app does not know your body, your intake or your history. It cannot detect dependence, it cannot tell you whether tapering is safe for you, and it is not a substitute for a doctor's assessment.
Talk to a doctor before you change how much you drink, particularly if you drink daily, if you have ever had a seizure, or if you shake, sweat or feel sick when you have not had a drink. If you feel unwell while cutting down — tremors, confusion, hallucinations, a racing heart — seek medical help immediately. In an emergency call your local emergency number.
Nothing in Lucid is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and nothing in it should delay you seeking any.
The numbers come from what you told it
The money recovered, the drinks avoided and the descending allowance are all arithmetic on the figures you entered during setup. If you estimated what you drank or what it cost, the results carry that estimate. They are a reflection of your own answers, not a measurement of your body.
Slipping is not a breach of these terms
Going over the allowance, drinking on a day you meant not to, or stopping and starting again is not misuse of the app and does not affect your subscription. Marking a slip is a feature, not a confession. The record is there to be honest with, and an app you have to lie to is worse than no app.
Subscriptions and billing
- Lucid is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. The price, the period and any free trial are shown before you buy and are charged to your Apple ID.
- It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The charge is taken within 24 hours of the end of that period.
- Manage or cancel it in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period you are in.
- If a free trial is offered and you buy a subscription during it, the unused part of the trial is forfeited.
- We do not process refunds, because we never took the payment. Refunds are Apple's to give — request one through Apple's own process.
Your data lives on your device
We hold no copy of anything you log, which means we cannot restore it. If you delete the app or erase your data, it is gone. Your phone's own backup may hold a copy; ours never will. The privacy policy explains why that trade is deliberate.
Your content is yours
Anything you write in Lucid belongs to you and we claim no licence over it — a claim would be meaningless anyway, since we never receive it. The app itself, its design and its text belong to us.
Availability
We work to keep Lucid running and updated, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of defects. Features can change between versions, and a version may stop working on an iOS release we no longer support.
Fair use
Do not reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app, and do not attempt to bypass the subscription. We may end access for anyone doing so.
Liability
Lucid is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it, and our total liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights as a consumer, which these terms do not affect.
Ending this agreement
You can end it at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. We may end it if these terms are breached. Either way, the parts that make sense to survive — liability, governing law — do.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and a significant change will be flagged in the app. Continuing to use Lucid after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
Spanish law governs these terms, and the courts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer law.
